France Claude Glossary Psychology

Hi, my name is France Claude. I live in Montreal. I have been studying Social Science for the last two years at Ahuntsic College. My field will be Psychology when I get to University. The glossary that I have created will be useful for students who will be studying Psychology. Psychology study how people behave, think and feel. Each word created in the glossary are related to that field of study. By learning each word in the glossary, you will discover the meaning of psychology.

abnormal behavior
noun
Behavior regarded as evidence of a mental or emotional disturbance, ranging from minor adjustment problems to severe mental disorder.
Example: My fiance Abnormal Behavior was disturbing at the engagement party.

The human BRAIN is the central organ of the human nervous system.
Example: My friend is a total BRAIN in English.

adjective
Related to the process of knowing, understanding, and learning something.
Example: Further, into the forebrain, motor functions trail off and COGNITIVE functions, involving planning and thinking about the future, begin.

consciousness
noun
The condition of being awake and able to understand what is happening around you.
Example: Karen lost CONSCIOUSNESS in the middle of the night and died this morning.

Relating to or arising from a person's surroundings.
Example: Brian has been living in a healthy ENVIRONMENTAL atmosphere.

experience
noun
Something that happens to you or something you do, especially when this has an effect on what you feel or think.
Example: This was my first EXPERIENCE of living with my boyfriend.

To experience a particular physical feeling or emotion.

The general condition of your body and how healthy you are.
Example: I am worried about my mom's HEALTH.
